Our Story
In the heart of Eastern Ontario, Lost Villages Candle Co., was born from a lifelong passion for creativity and the love of cherishing memories. Founded by Kathleen, an artisan with a passion for creating, our journey began with a different path in schooling. While her peers pursued conventional paths, Kathleen ventured into the world of welding and woodworking during her high school days. These unconventional pursuits sowed the seeds of her creative spirit, laying the foundation for what would become Lost Villages Candle Co.

As life unfolded, Kathleen remained in perpetual motion, crafting furniture, hosting craft nights, and creating handmade gifts. Yet, when Kathleen embraced grand-motherhood, nostalgia whispered. The tick of the clock grew louder, and the phrase "time flies" resonated more profoundly and memories of 'old times' became more precious.

It wasn't just the memories themselves that tugged at Kathleen's heart; it was the fragrances intertwined with them. The scent of the forest during her trail runs after a rain, freshly made bread by her mother, or the salty sea breeze as she sat beside the ocean - these fragrances held the keys to cherished recollections, and Kathleen was determined to share them with the world. As an ultra runner she was not afraid, nor a stranger of challenges, discipline or obstacles so her candle making journey begun.

At Lost Villages Candle Co., we believe that fragrances have the power to transport us to moments of joy, serenity, and nostalgia. Each of our candles are meticulously hand-poured, crafted with natural soy wax, and premium fragrance oils. We just don't create candles; we craft sensory masterpieces that capture the very essence of cherished moments.

Our Story
Our name, Lost Villages Candle Co., pays tribute to the history of Eastern Ontario. On July 1, 1958, ten communities were permanently submerged during the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway, displacing thousands of people. From this submerged history rose Kathleen's own home in Long Sault, originally from the lost community of Maple Grove. Today, it stands as a living relic, part of "The Lost Villages Museum," and an indelible part of our candle brand's narrative.
